I’m still alive
Just thought I’d place a quick post to let anyone who reads this blog know that I’m still alive and kicking. I’ve been so busy with traveling that I lost interest in the time being and have seriously neglected the blog. I hope to get some pics uploaded to Flickr! for Philly and Oklahoma City. I’ve posted pics of the cruise on Flickr! at http://flickr.com/mousern. Go visit, leave comments if you wish. I’ll try to be back sometime this week because there’s a lot to catch up on. TTFN!

Well, it’s probably not what you think. Sunday we had lunch on board after boarding around 2pm, departed Tampa on Sunday at about 4pm and headed out to sea. The buffet is great and I had way too much to eat, including quite a bit of dairy products (I’m getting more lactose intolerant as I get older…an Asian thing) which landed me in bed bloated, gassy, and very uncomfortable…enough so that I skipped dinner. After deflating a bit I joined DH and our travel companions at Satchmo’s Lounge listening to a live Filipino band who sang tunes from the 70’s and 80’s. I had to get up and dance alone most of the time because DH doesn’t dance unless he’s drunk and the booze is way too expensive on board.
Yesterday was the first full day at sea. We spent much of the time attending seminars for shore excursions and ship activities and I spent an hour or so by the adult pool getting just a touch of my first sunburn this trip. We continued to eat too much throughout the day starting with breakfast, a big lunch, a trip to the ice cream shop, a stop at the pizza parlor, and a wonderful dinner with lobster as the main course. The waters were a little rough during the evening, but not enough to cause me any seasickness. After dinner we headed to the introductory show and the late night comedy show with Thomas Brown (watch his show if he’s in your area…warning: he is on the R rated side). Then we headed to bed at around 1am and had to be ready to start the day at a bright and early 7am.
Today was our first port of call at Georgetown, Grand Cayman. I spent most of the morning at 7-mile Beach (which is actually only 6.5 miles long) and managed to get a fairly decent sunburn on my back after falling asleep on the lounger for about 45 minutes. DH took a Jeep excursion which brought him snorkeling, to Hell (a tiny town on Grand Cayman called that due to some rock formations), and around the island. DH had originally signed up for a beginners diving class, but because of his history of high blood pressure and hearing loss he was denied the activity.
Tomorrow will be our second port of call at Cozumel, Mexico. We will be going to the Mayan ruins of Tulum which is an all day excursion so we won’t really be able to do any shopping or what not there. I’ll post more on that in a day or two. Hopefully I’ll be able to load up a few pics (I forgot my camera when I went to the beach so I have an old fashioned disposable I will need to develop) so that you can see what I am seeing. Well, I gotta get to bed for tomorrow’s trip even though it doesn’t start until 10:15. We skipped tonight’s show and comedy show because we were all so tired. I’m really going to need a vacation from this vacation! TTFN!

Well, it’s curently 10:47 am. DH and I are hanging out in the room waiting for the shuttle to pick us and our traveling companions up at 12:30. The weather here in Florida is hot and humid, not my favorite. DH is critiquing the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, but this is nothing new. He critiques just about every movie he watches.
The cruise doesn’t actually start until 4pm so it’ll be about 3 hours once we board to kill. I think I’ll make reservations for a spa day (couple’s massage) and for the Truffles Restaurant which is the ritzy “pay extra” restaurant on board. I also just looked at the the weather for our stops and this is what it’s looking like:
Tues: Grand Cayman - 87° - Sunny - Max Humidity 74%
Wed: Cozumel - 86° - Showers - Max Humidity 81%
Thurs: Roatan Island, Honduras - 85° - Showers - Max Humidity 81%
Fri: Belize - 84° - Scattered T-storms - Max Humidity 85%
Hopefully the showers and t-storms won’t be so bad that we have to cancel any of our excursions. Well, I guess that’s it for now. Only one hour until we bring our bags to the lobby to wait for the shuttle. TTFN!

Well, DH and I are sitting in the Houston International Airport USO for our connecting flight to Tampa. We are sitting on a nice, soft leather couch watching some womens softball game on the TV. I’ve got my free wireless service and this is so much better than waiting on the concourse in those hard uncomfortable chairs. It’s not quite a VIP lounge, but it’s close enough with free coffee, snacks, sodas (I think) and what not. Our flight stars boarding in about 35 minutes so this is a nice place to wait before that happens.
Just thought I’d drop a note and keep those of you that read this tiny blog up on where and what we are doing. TTFN!
